We are partnering with a well-regarded insurance intermediary in Hong Kong to place a driven and client-focused professional into an Insurance Specialist position. This organisation has built a strong reputation in the local market and is looking for someone who can take meaningful ownership of client relationships while actively contributing to business growth. 

Your New Role

  • Serve as the primary relationship contact for a defined portfolio of individual and corporate insurance clients, managing all day-to-day servicing needs with professionalism and care.
  • Develop and sustain productive working relationships with insurers, banking partners, and other distribution channels to support seamless client servicing and placement.
  • Handle the full client lifecycle — from preparing tailored quotations and negotiating policy terms through to managing renewals, amendments, and ongoing inquiries.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, engaging proactively with prospective clients and converting leads through consultative, needs-based dialogue.
  • Prepare customised proposals and marketing materials that address clients’ specific financial protection requirements.

Your Background

  • A bachelor’s degree, combined with a minimum of three years’ experience in the life insurance industry in Hong Kong; prior exposure to bank assurance or insurance broking channels is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience servicing Mainland Chinese visitor (MCV) clients and an understanding of the distinct needs of this customer segment.
  • Familiarity with life insurance product ranges across both domestic and cross-border segments; exposure to high-net-worth clients and group insurance or employee benefits schemes is highly regarded.
  • Relevant industry qualifications, including IIQE Papers 1, 2, and 3; Paper 5 is a further advantage.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to build trust with clients and business partners across cultures.

In this key role, you will directly manage the Claims and Policy Administration teams, drive effective, compliant, and customer-focused operations while apply expertise in life insurance processes to support operational efficiency.

Your New Role

  • Lead and develop the Claims and Policy Administration teams, setting performance standards, coaching staff, and building operational capability across adjudication, settlement, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and servicing.
  • Oversee end-to-end processes with hands-on expertise, implementing streamlined workflows, automation, and controls to improve speed, accuracy, fairness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor key metrics and trends, deliver insightful reporting, and drive continuous improvements to enhance customer experience and strengthen risk management (including anti-selection and fraud controls).
  • Define operational philosophy, update guidelines and ensure robust governance and audit readiness across claims and policy functions.
  • Collaborate with IT on system enhancements, provide claims/policy input for new product launches, and deliver training to distribution partners on procedures, regulations, and case knowledge.

Your Background

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in a relevant field
  • 10+ years in life insurance operations administration, with specialised experience in claims management and policy administration
  • Proven leadership managing claims and/or policy teams within the Hong Kong market
  • In-depth knowledge of life insurance operational workflows, regulatory compliance, and risk controls
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin); professional qualifications (e.g. FLMI) highly preferred

  • Building and maintaining the Economic Capital Model, integrating life components and utilizing advanced stochastic simulation tools.
  • Preparing and validating life elements for regulatory and rating agency submissions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Managing and enhancing the Internal Control System, ensuring that risk controls for investments, asset-liability, and life insurance are effectively designed, implemented, and regularly refined.

Your Background

  • With actuarial qualification (e.g., FSA, FIA) and 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • 8+ years in actuarial science, risk management, or financial strategy within financial services
  • Candidates from consulting firm are welcomed
  • Knowledge of risk-based capital frameworks (e.g., HKRBC, Solvency II).
