An established insurance company in Asia, with a strong focus on effective risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks, they are current seeking a an expert to strengthen their policy architecture across the Region.

Your New Role
As Regional Risk and Governance lead, you will take a leading role in reshaping how the organisation assesses, monitors and reports on its risk and control environment, and how regional policies are designed and applied.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the structuring of the regional policy and manual framework in line with industry standards and regulatory expectations, and providing clear guidance to policy owners
  • Collaborating with policy owners across central functions to update regional policies so they contain the appropriate level of detail and define clear minimum control standards for risk assessment
  • Designing and embedding the policy exemptions and breach reporting process, working with analytics teams to introduce automation and strengthen management information
  • Assessing risk governance arrangements across the organisation to ensure they remain effective, issuing guidance to promote consistency, identifying gaps, and supporting necessary improvements
  • Taking ownership of the continuous review and updating of Regional Governance procedures and operating manuals to keep them relevant and practical
  • Preparing high-quality papers and management information for governance forums and project steering committees
  • Enhancing the Business Controls report and partnering with risk colleagues to strengthen reporting to risk governance forums, including identifying opportunities for greater automation
  • Leading the planning and delivery of further improvements in governance and risk reporting across the organisation

Your Background

  • Over 10 years’ experience, with a substantial portion spent in governance, policy and framework development, or risk reporting roles within financial services
  • A strong preference for candidates with a mixed background of consulting and in-house insurance experience
  • Highly disciplined with a clear focus on delivery and execution; able to support change while showing persistence and resilience
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, managing competing priorities and meeting demanding deadlines
  • Strong influencing skills together with excellent written communication and drafting ability
  • Demonstrated experience in project or programme management
