A leading global insurance group driving innovation across Asia seeks a talented professional to Lead of Property & Construction Underwriting lead to oversee strategic growth initiatives across APAC with a focus on Hong Kong and China, leveraging expertise to redefine the region’s property and construction insurance market presence.

Your New Role
You will spearhead the property & construction portfolio’s strategy, growth, and profitability in Hong Kong and China, ensuring alignment with global standards and local market needs.

• Develop and execute a regional property underwriting strategy, aligning with global standards and local market dynamics to drive portfolio growth and profitability. 
• Oversee underwriting for commercial, industrial, and specialty property lines, including builder’s risk and catastrophe-exposed assets. Monitor performance, optimize pricing, and leverage analytics for risk management. 
• Manage a team of underwriters in Hong Kong and China, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence while driving talent development. 
• Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, clients, and reinsurers in APAC to grow market presence and build partnerships. 
• Partner with claims, risk engineering, and actuarial teams to deliver seamless property, engineering and construction insurance solutions and proactive risk management.

Your Background
You bring 15+ years of property and construction insurance experience, with 10+ years in property underwriting or related fields (e.g., construction, engineering), ideally in Hong Kong and China.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Structural); certifications such as ANZIIF/ACII are an asset  
• Proven regional leadership, managing teams and portfolios in APAC including Hong Kong and China.
• Expertise in construction and engineering insurance (e.g., builder’s risk, CAR, EAR), with knowledge of commercial and industrial property lines.
• Excellent communication in English; fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
