Introducing Your New Opportunity

My client, a leading global insurance firm with a diverse portfolio across multiple lines of business, is seeking a Senior Manager - Corporate Development to drive strategic growth in the health, medical, and group benefit insurance within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with a focus on China and Hong Kong. This role is pivotal in shaping the firm’s expansion through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic planning, joint ventures, and business intelligence.

Your New Role

• Lead corporate development initiatives, including M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, focusing on health, medical, and group medical products in APAC, particularly China and Hong Kong.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to identify market expansion and product innovation opportunities.
• Conduct business intelligence and data analysis to inform strategic decisions, market positioning, and competitive analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, product development, and finance, to align corporate development strategies with business objectives.

• Identify and evaluate investment opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions, conducting due diligence and financial modeling while overseeing the execution of joint ventures and strategic alliances to align with the firm’s long-term goals. 
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry partners, and clients, to support business development and collaboration.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, strategic planning, joint ventures, business intelligence, or data analysis
• Strong preference for candidates with a consulting background (e.g., management or strategy consulting) combined with in-house experience in the insurance sector.
• Deep knowledge of the health, medical, and group medical insurance markets, with specific expertise in APAC, particularly China and Hong Kong.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders; fluency in English required, proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese highly desirable.
